We are looking for a hard-working and innovative Front End Web Developer to join our Customer Workflows team in Oxford.
The successful candidate will have an impact on development of customer facing features and services of the EPI2ME Desktop application that supports real-time analysis and reporting of experimental data from our sequencing devices in a simple to use interface. Playing an active role in driving user engagement through end-to-end user centric solutions, from technical design to implementation, testing and release to our customer facing products.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Working with colleagues and stakeholders to develop simple-to-use user interfaces
- Contributing code and performing code reviews for other team members
- Logging work using Jira and reporting progress regularly at stand up meetings
- Developing new customer-facing features
- Writing re-usable code, components, and tests
- Building Electron applications in addition to traditional browser-based applications
What We’re Looking For…
We’ll expect you to have a track record of delivering customer facing web or desktop applications and a proven background in working with modern front-end development frameworks. You’ll have prior experience of a CI/CD environment as a member of an agile team. You’ll also have a degree in the biological or physical sciences and have experience with:
- Typescript, node, HTML, CSS
- Electron application development
- React or similar frameworks
- Jest/Karma test frameworks
Candidates will also be able to display skills in the following areas:
- node.js, webpack, tailwind
- Gitlab CI/CD
- Scientific data visualisation
- Cloud platform deployment (AWS)
You will be a good communicator and confident about discussing technical matters with non-technical colleagues and customers. You’re results orientated with a positive can-do attitude who can work autonomously and as part of the team. This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
