Neuroinclusion Maturity Audit

How neuroinclusive is your organisation?

Most organisations believe they are further along than they are. Enna’s Neuroinclusion Maturity Audit gives DEI leads, people teams and senior leaders an honest, evidence-based picture of where their organisation sits today together with a clear roadmap for gaps to focus on next.

Our methodology

A rigorous framework for measuring neuroinclusion in practice

The Neuroinclusion Maturity Audit is Enna’s proprietary assessment framework, developed over six years of working with organisations across 33 countries. It moves beyond surface-level policy review to assess how neuroinclusion is actually operating across the seven areas that determine the real employee experience.

Unlike generic inclusion surveys or self-reported diversity metrics, the Audit is designed to surface the gaps between intention and practice, the places where organisations believe they are doing well and the reality experienced by neurodivergent employees diverges most significantly.

The result is not a judgement. It is an honest snapshot of where your organisation is today, what is working, where the gaps are and what focused action will have the greatest impact on neuroinclusion maturity.

Seven areas measured:

Awareness & Education

How well neurodiversity is understood across your organisation, from frontline teams to senior leadership.

Recruitment & Hiring Practices

How inclusive and accessible your hiring process is for neurodivergent candidates.

Policies & Processes

Whether your policies and adjustment processes support neurodivergent employees consistently.

Leadership Commitment

How actively senior leaders champion neuroinclusion and model inclusive behaviour.

Environment & Support

How well your physical and psychological working environment meets neurodivergent needs.

Organisational Culture

Whether neuroinclusion is genuinely embedded in how your organisation operates day to day.

Work Design & Development

How well roles, workloads and development opportunities work for different thinking styles.

The framework

Four levels.
One honest picture.

Every organisation sits somewhere on the neuroinclusion maturity journey. The Audit identifies which of four levels best reflects your current practice and what it takes to move to the next.

The most common result among organisations completing the Audit is Developing which means real foundations exist but consistency, confidence and cultural embedding still have significant room to grow.

01

Emerging

Awareness of neurodiversity is beginning to develop but the systems, behaviours and practices needed to create a consistent and supportive experience for neurodivergent employees are not yet fully established. This is a very common starting point  and a valuable opportunity to put the right foundations in place before challenges become reactive or compliance-led.

02

Developing

There is growing understanding and increasing commitment across the organisation. A number of foundations are in place but practices are not yet fully embedded or consistently applied across all teams. Organisations at this level have moved beyond awareness and are beginning to build real capability.

03

Advanced

Strong foundations are in place and several well-developed neuroinclusive practices are operating across the business. Neuroinclusion efforts are no longer ad hoc and are increasingly applied consistently. The focus now is on strengthening alignment across systems and ensuring practices are sustained as the organisation grows.

02

Leader

Neuroinclusion is embedded into organisational strategy, systems and culture. Practices are proactive, evidence-led and consistently applied, creating a reliable and inclusive experience for neurodivergent employees. The focus shifts from implementation to optimisation, influence and long-term sustainability.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions about the Neuroinclusion Maturity Audit

The Neuroinclusion Maturity Audit is Enna's proprietary assessment framework that measures how neuroinclusive an organisation is across seven key areas. It is designed to go beyond surface-level awareness and give organisations an honest, evidence-based picture of where they currently stand, and a clear roadmap for what to do next.

The Audit is designed for HR leaders, DEI practitioners, People & Culture teams, and senior leaders who want to take a structured, evidence-based approach to neuroinclusion. It is suitable for organisations of all sizes and sectors, whether you are just beginning your neuroinclusion journey or looking to benchmark and improve existing practices.

The assessment takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It covers seven key areas of neuroinclusion practice and is structured to be straightforward and jargon-free, so you can complete it without any prior expertise in neurodiversity.

Yes, the assessment is completely free to take. Once you complete it, you will receive a detailed report of your results across all seven areas, along with a free consultation call with an Enna consultant to help you interpret your results and build a tailored roadmap.

Organisations are scored against four levels. At the Emerging level, awareness of neurodiversity is beginning to develop but consistent systems and practices are not yet in place. At the Developing level, there is growing commitment and some foundations exist, but practices are not yet fully embedded. At the Advanced level, strong neuroinclusive practices are operating consistently across the organisation. At the Leader level, neuroinclusion is fully embedded into strategy, systems, and culture with proactive, organisation-wide practices in place.

The Audit measures your organisation across: Awareness & Education, Recruitment & Hiring Practices, Policies & Processes, Leadership Commitment, Environment & Support, Organisational Culture, and Work Design & Development. Each area is scored independently, so you get a granular picture rather than a single overall number.

After completing the assessment, you will receive a detailed results report showing your maturity level across all seven areas. You will then be invited to book a free consultation call with an Enna consultant, who will walk you through your results and work with you to develop a tailored neuroinclusion roadmap. There is no obligation to purchase anything.

Unlike generic inclusion surveys or self-reported diversity metrics, the Audit is specifically designed to assess the systems, behaviours, and practices that drive real neuroinclusive outcomes. It surfaces practical gaps rather than measuring attitudes or intentions, which means the results are directly actionable rather than descriptive.

The most common result is Developing, which means real foundations are in place but consistency, confidence, and cultural embedding still have significant room to grow. This is a positive starting point, it means the will is there, and Enna's role is to help you build on it strategically.
