Stop guessing what your neurodivergent employees need. Get the answers.
Enna’s Workplace Needs Assessments give employers and their neurodivergent employees a clear, specialist-led picture of the adjustments and support that would make the biggest practical difference, without the delays, the guesswork or the generic recommendations.
The benefits
Why organisations commission assessments
Most organisations want to get adjustments right. Most don’t have the specialist knowledge to do it without help.
Access to Work waiting times
Access to Work is valuable but waiting times can stretch to months. Enna’s assessments deliver the same quality of specialist output in a fraction of the time.
Specialist neurodiversity expertise
Identifying the specific adjustments that make a real difference requires specialist knowledge. Enna’s assessors bring deep expertise in neurodiversity specifically in workplace settings.
Tailored recommendations that actually work
Standard adjustment lists rarely capture what an individual in a specific role genuinely needs. Our assessments are grounded in the person’s actual experience – not a template.
A clear, shared starting point
Without an independent assessment, adjustment conversations can become difficult. A Workplace Needs Assessment gives everyone a clear, evidence-based foundation to move forward from together.
What's included
A specialist conversation that produces practical, tailored recommendations.
Every Workplace Needs Assessment is conducted by one of Enna’s specialist neurodiversity assessors who are practitioners with deep expertise in how neurodivergent conditions affect people specifically in workplace settings. This is not a generic occupational health assessment. It is a specialist neurodiversity assessment focused entirely on the practical realities of the employee’s role, environment and working style.
What the assessment covers:
- The employee’s neurotype and how it affects their specific role and responsibilities
- Strengths and working style, what the employee does well and how to build on it
- Day-to-day challenges in their current environment and working practices
- How their role, tasks and communication requirements interact with their neurotype
- The physical and sensory working environment
- Management style, communication and feedback preferences
- Technology and tools that could support more effective working
What makes our assessments different:
Neurodiversity specialists, not generalists Our assessors specialise in neurodiversity in the workplace, not occupational health broadly. They understand the specific, nuanced ways different neurotypes affect performance, communication and wellbeing in professional settings.
Tailored recommendations, not a standard list Every report is specific to the individual, their role and their organisation. We don’t apply a template. We identify what will actually make a difference for this person in this job.
Workplace focused throughout The assessment is designed around how the employee works, not just how they present clinically. The recommendations are practical, immediately actionable and written for HR teams and managers to implement.
The process
From booking to recommendations in four steps.
Its simple to book and arrange a Workplace Needs Assessment. The whole process from start to finish can take less than two weeks, giving you reliable and timely reasonable adjustment recommendations.
Step 1
Book the assessment
The employer contacts Enna to book an assessment. We agree a date, time and format, virtual or in person, that works for the employee.
Step 2
Complete the assessment
One of Enna’s specialist neurodiversity assessors conducts a one to two hour conversation with the employee. This covers their role, working style, strengths, day-to-day challenges and working environment.
Step 3
Produce the report
Enna produces a detailed written report with specific, prioritised recommendations tailored to the individual employee and their role. The employee reviews the report and confirms they are happy with it before it is shared.
Step 4
Next steps
Once approved by the employee, the report is shared with the employer. The recommendations become the foundation for an adjustments conversation between the employee and their manager.
Common Questions
Frequently asked questions about Workplace Needs Assessments
01 How long does the assessment take?
Assessments typically last one to twp hours. This gives the assessor enough time to build a thorough picture of the employee's working life without being unnecessarily demanding on the employee's time.
02 How quickly can we get an assessment?
Workplace Needs Assessments are faster than Access to Work. We aim to schedule assessments within a timeframe that works for the employer and employee, typically within a few weeks rather than months.
03 Who should be present during the assessment?
The assessment is primarily a conversation between the assessor and the employee. The employee's manager or HR lead can observe virtually if the employee is comfortable with this, but the assessment is designed to give the employee a safe space to speak openly.
04 How much does it cost?
Assessments are employer-funded. Get in touch for pricing, costs vary depending on the format and any travel required for in-person assessments.
05 How is this different from an Access to Work assessment?
Access to Work assessments are government-funded and valuable, but waiting times can be long. Enna's assessments are employer-funded and can be delivered much faster. Our assessors also specialise specifically in neurodiversity in the workplace, meaning the recommendations tend to be more tailored and more immediately applicable to the employee's specific role and environment.
06 What happens after the report is delivered?
The report is shared with the employee first to confirm they are happy with it. When the employee gives their permission for it to be shared, it is then shared with the employer. Enna is available to answer questions about the recommendations and support the implementation process. We can also discuss follow-up coaching or ongoing support if needed.
