Undergraduate Administrative Assistant
Location: South Kensington Campus
Type: Hybrid.
Salary: £37,108 – £40,166 per annum
Are you a motivated and well organised individual, looking to develop your administrative skills at a world leading University? If so, an exciting opportunity has emerged in our Department of Mechanical Engineering team as an Undergraduate Administrative Assistant. Working alongside three other Undergraduate Administrators and the Teaching Operations Manager, you will support a wide range of activities within the Undergraduate Office, with a particular focus on admissions, examinations, student projects, and coursework processes for Mechanical Engineering students.
What you would be doing
- You will provide administrative support for undergraduate teaching and assessment.
- You will support examination and assessment processes.
- You will act as a first point of contact for students, staff, and visitors.
- You will assist with undergraduate admissions and induction activities.
- You will contribute to student experience and engagement initiatives.
- You will undertake a range of general office and records management duties.
What we are looking for
- You will need to be educated to an A-level standard or equivalent.
- You will have experience working in a front-facing or customer focussed environment.
- Experience of working in an administrative setting in Higher Education is essential.
- Awareness of data protection guidelines and handling sensitive information is essential.
- Experience of admission processes and managing exam periods is desirable.
- A proactive and adaptable individual who can confidently manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively as part of a team, and make independent decisions when needed.
- Flexibility is essential, especially around key teaching and assessment periods such as induction week and exam seasons, when annual leave restrictions apply.

Hybrid working may be considered for this role. Staff working in roles that are suitable for hybrid working will normally be expected to work 60% of their time onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
