Awareness of ADHD has certainly increased over the past few years, which has helped more and more people talk about it, discover it for themselves and get an ADHD diagnosis. Including in this, is a few famous celebrities, who have recently spoken openly about their ADHD diagnosis and the benefits it has brought them.
Katie Price
Katie Price is a model and TV personality in the UK. She hasn’t yet received an official diagnosis, but believe she has undiagnosed ADHD after seeing her doctor where she says “it turns out, I probably have!”. She is currently undergoing further assessment to see if she can get an official diagnosis.
Johnny Vegas
Johnny Vegas is a famous UK comedian, presenter and actor. He has recently revealed he has been diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 52. He is best known for his stand-up comedy shows, his role in the comedy TV show Benidorm and Still Open All Hours. He’s said that his ADHD diagnosis “answers a lot of questions” and a “lot of things make sense now”.
Sue Perkins
TV favourite Sue Perkins has opened up about her recent ADHD diagnosis. The former Great British Bake Off presenter shared that she had the condition while commenting on musician Tom Grey’s post.
The Gomez star told followers: “I’m creeping towards an ADHD diagnosis. Strongly advised to do it to help me but more likely help people who have relationships with me.
“Never realised before how object permanence is such a problem for me. Staying in touch rarely if ever occurs to me. I can only apologise.”
Comedian Sue commented: “I have fully crept. Once I had the diagnosis, suddenly everything made sense – to me and to those who love me.”
Nadia Sawalha
Nadia Sawalha from Loose Women struggled to hold back the tears on the show when she shared that she has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This was after saying she experienced years of “chaos” which she attributed to laziness.
The TV star just discovered that she has the disorder through a clip was played on the ITV programme that showed Sawalha, 58, being told that the symptoms she exhibited were consistent with ADHD.
Tommy Mallet
Tommy Mallet is a reality star and business owner known for his trainer company, Mallet London. Tommy has recently opened up about his ADHD and dyslexia diagnosis and said that he “…started being really forgetful. That was a struggle. I had no control over what I was saying. It got really bad. There are things that aggravate it – I need to keep stress in check and stick to a routine and diet.”
